5th Gear

5th Gear, also known as 5th Gear Overdrive is a 6 piece Classic Rock Band and so much more. out of the Binghamton NY area. We play hits from the 70's & 80's, such as those made famous by Huey Lewis and the News, Billy Joel, Journey, Bon Jovi, Santana and so many more. We play a wide variety of 1 hit wonders as well, like Brandy, Vehicle, Smoke from a Distant Fire, just to name a few.  Then we move into other oldies from a more recent era, like Maroon 5, One Republic, Magic and others.  We appeal to all ages. 

Information about the band can be found @ .  We are fronted by Mocca Shabaz, a circuit lead vocalist from the Miami, Fla. area. The front line consists of guitarist, backup vocalist and sound engineer, Dave Hagerman and Dan Bolten, saxophonist/percussionist and backup vocalist recently relocated from Huntington Beach,Ca.  Both are seasoned pros who have played in popular bands on both coasts for over 30 years and have recorded with numerous nationally known acts. Supporting them are Donny Wilkens on keys/harmonica and backup vocals and Tom Federowitz on bass and backup vocals.  Both have been mainstays in the Southern Tier music scene for years.  Last is the heartbeat, Mike Morrisey on drums, a true rocker at heart and on the throne. 

If you love 70's and 80's rock anthems to funky Motown, to great blue-eyed soul, to even some tastely smooth jazz we got ya.  Tennesee Whiskey to Billie Jean, Superstion to Radar Love, Summer of 69 to Counting Stars, it's covered.
