With a dynamic repertoire spanning classical, contemporary, musical theatre, rock, and pop, she brings both elegance and electric energy to every performance. You can hire her solo or by request, with her rock band, and/or a classical pianist to perform with her. She also can work with your preferred musicians
Aziza Poggi is an award-winning, classically trained mezzo-soprano and dynamic crossover artist based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She blends opera, musical theatre, rock, pop, and contemporary music, performing with a rich and expressive voice across genres.
She has performed as a soloist and in ensembles with the West Michigan Opera Project and regularly appears for events, one-off concerts, and her own recitals. In April 2025, she appeared at Carnegie Hall with the West Michigan Opera Project, singing Carmen’s part in “Votre toast” and in the ensemble for “Nessun Dorma” and “The Flower Duet.”
In September and October 2025, Aziza performed in a Mozart Concert Series and later joined the West Michigan Opera Project and the Southwest Symphony, where she again sang Carmen’s part in “Votre toast” and performed in the ensemble for A Night at the Opera with full orchestra. She also made her debut with Opera Grand Rapids in the chorus for Gilbert & Sullivan’s H.M.S. Pinafore.
A decorated competitor, she has earned First Prize (Gold) in the Erik Satie International Music Competition, First Place in the New York Classical Music Competition, Third Place in the International Schubert Competition Vienna, along with honorable mentions.
In addition to her classical career, Aziza has toured internationally with her symphonic rock band, Aria Flame, performing at European festivals like Metal Female Voices Fest and Femme Festival. She earned her BA in Interdisciplinary Music Studies from Berklee College of Music in June 2025, trains with master opera coach Nicholas Loren, and operates a private voice studio in Grand Rapids. Aziza also does acting, with recent shoots for Meijer Corporation and the American Diabetes Association.
