Dawn Bishop, Harpist

Dawn’s outstanding professional reputation has established her as a leading freelance harpist in the Chicago area.  She maintains a thriving career performing for weddings, special occasions and corporate functions. Her music is also featured at the Morton Arboretum’s holiday and tea events throughout the year. A versatile solo and ensemble musician, Dawn performs with numerous ensembles and is a founding member of the Artista Trio.

Upon graduating from Wheaton College, Dawn debuted professionally at Chicago's Drake Hotel in 1998. She entertained guests for afternoon tea during a ten-year steady engagement.

Dawn serves as the harp instructor for Benedictine University and maintains a private studio in Glen Ellyn, IL.  She is a trained Suzuki harp teacher and formerly taught at Sherwood Conservatory of Music. In 2007 Dawn was selected to co-chair the American Harp Society's Institute and National Competition in Chicago.

 

Dawn's Chicago based harp, flute, and cello trio skillfully creates an elegant ambiance distinguishing any special event as unique and memorable. When performing as an ensemble or providing solo music, the members of the Artista Trio integrate fine musicianship with artistic creativity to deliver exceptional performances. Each artist has over fifteen years of solo and ensemble experience and is dedicated to providing quality, professional musical services.
