Detroit "Motown" native, Melody - aka "The Soul Butterfly," is not only a talented and versatile vocalist, she's also a 2009 Gospel Stellar Award Nominee for New Artist of the Year and the 2008 WAMMIE (Washington Area Music Association) Winner for Best Gospel/Inspirational Recording for her versatile mixed genre debut project. As a multi-talented singer, songwriter, actress, and stage performer, Melody refuses to be locked into a specific box with her music or any of her lifelong undertakings.

She has shared the music stage at such legendary arenas as The Grand Ole Opry with notable artists as, Regina Belle, Dionne Warwick, Sheryl Lee Ralph, The legendary Clark Sisters, Comedian Sinbad, and a host of others. Melody is also no stranger to the acting stage, performing in several noteworthy musical/ theater productions, which included appearances at Washington, DC's historic Lincoln Theater and Maryland's celebrated Publick Playhouse. While showing great musical versatility, style, and charisma - Melody brings to you a fresh sound with a unique vocal blend of Jazz, Soul, and R & B with a touch of Gospel.

Her musical inspiration comes from a wide range of music genre's and styles and from music legends and innovators from Motown, Soul to Classic and Contemporary Jazz.  Artist's such as Gladys Knight and Diana Ross; and Jazz legends such as Ella Fitzgerald,  Billie Holiday and Etta James; along with other well-known songstresses, Whitney Houston, Natalie Cole, Stephanie Mills and Chaka Khan - just to name a few; have all helped to inspire & shape the sound and style that is uniquely Melody!
