Pickin' and Grinnin'
The band Pickin' & Grinnin' is two musical farmhands who are outstanding in their field. Sara and Andy sing and play mandolin, guitar, and harmonica, mixing hoe-down music with silly jokes and audience participation for a toe-tappin' and knee-slappin' good time. If desired, the duo can become a trio with the addition of one of their fiddlin' friends.
"We mix short versions of some of our hoe-down music with corny farm jokes and audience participation. We like to get kids up to play our washtub bass and washboard, then we let them pick a small prize from our "Farm Animal Career Prognosticator." Sometimes we're able to get kids up to dance the 'Chicken Dance' or sing 'Old MacDonald.' We carry our own 'stage' area with backdrop (as shown in the photos) and a pro-quality compact PA." A place to 'plug in' to electricity is needed for the PA and any lighting.
"In addition to our Pickin' & Grinnin' shows, we can play a wide variety of pop, light rock, country, bluegrass, and folk standards and oldies that are suitable for any age audience. I believe we're ideal for festival 2nd stages or Children's Areas."
