Santa Dan and Mrs. Claus
✨ It has been said that you don’t choose the red suit, the red suit chooses you, and for me, that couldn't be truer. Stage presence and voice work have been a part of my DNA for as long as I can remember, modeled early on after my father, who was an incredible teacher and speaker. By kindergarten, I was already gravitating toward the stage, taking lead roles in every play I could. In my teens, I threw myself into voice lessons and every choir available, eventually starting college at fifteen and performing in an internationally acclaimed jazz choir. That path led me to share the stage at the 1980 Concord Jazz Festival alongside legends like Seattle’s own Ernestine Anderson, Ray Brown, and George Shearing. By my thirties, I was hosting a nationally syndicated radio show, doing commercial voiceovers, and narrating audiobooks. Then, during the first Christmas of the pandemic, everything clicked—I stepped into the role of Santa, and I instantly knew I had found my true calling.
A truly memorable St. Nick starts with the voice. It has to carry that unmistakable warmth, depth, and comfort that people of all ages immediately recognize. Beyond the voice, there is the look. My wife of thirty-eight years always said my mother looked exactly like Mrs. Claus, and as genetics would have it, I inherited those exact same warm features. Combined with my real beard, traditional attire, and decades of public speaking experience, I bring a presence to every event that feels completely authentic, deeply comforting, and down-to-earth.
My heart and passion are always centered around serving kids and families who might not get the chance to visit a mall or attend a big holiday event. Through my volunteer work with Santa America, I focus heavily on visiting children in need, supporting foster group homes, and leading drives to provide essential items like socks, underwear, and belts. Every commercial event I take on helps support and underwrite this volunteer work. Based in Kirkland, Washington, I travel across the entire Seattle metropolitan area to bring the spirit of the season to home visits, private photo sessions, corporate celebrations, tree lightings, and community gatherings—with or without Mrs. Claus by my side.
