Standard Alchemy Jazz
Standard Alchemy Jazz is the sound of an event that is going well.
Trumpet and guitar. The Great American Songbook, bossa nova, blues and soul, played by two musicians with real miles on them. Zan Waller spent more than twenty years as a lead trumpet player in U.S. Army and Navy show bands and on international cruise lines, playing for heads of state, troops, and thousands of guests who just wanted a great night. Stefan Davenport graduated magna cum laude from Berklee College of Music and has toured rock, R&B, funk and jazz stages for decades. His guitar is warm, blues-bent and effortless.
What that experience buys you is a band that reads the room. Cocktail hour stays elegant and conversational. Dinner gets a soundtrack, not a show. When it is time to open the dance floor, we expand to a trio or quartet with bass and drums, bring in a guest vocalist, and swing hard. Your first dance, your parents' song, the tune that means something to the two of you: tell us and we will have it ready.
Built for mountain weddings and Western Slope events. We are based in Montrose, an hour from Telluride and Mountain Village, with Grand Junction, Palisade, Ouray, Ridgway and Crested Butte all home turf. That means no travel surcharge, no lodging to arrange, and a band that knows the venues, the altitude and the weather. We arrive early, bring our own professional sound system, handle setup and teardown, and coordinate directly with your venue and planner. You will not think about us until you hear us.
One more thing nobody else offers. Our guitarist is also a professional chef who runs a catering company. If you want music and menu from one team that already works together, ask.
Formats: Duo (trumpet and guitar), Trio (adds bass), Quartet (adds drums), optional vocalist for any of the above.

Book the band your guests will ask about afterward.
