Vinyl Live

Based in Charlotte NC

Vinyl Live is a classic rock band featuring dedicated professionals with more than a century’s worth (really) of musical experience and tales to tell. Between the five of us, we’ve played for hundreds of thousands of people in every type of event imaginable, including concerts, festivals, weddings, and much more.

Do you remember what it was like to go to the record store, buy the latest vinyl record album from your favorite band, then rush home to listen to it — really listen to it, while poring over the album sleeve artwork? We were — and still are — those guys, too. Vinyl Live is dedicated to bringing you every great song you know and love, exactly the way the original artists performed them, into a meticulously tailored show that fits your needs.

Vinyl Live is Bill Carroll, Kevin Cosgrove, Mike Costa, Greg Endy and Ray Tyson — dedicated professionals with more than a century’s worth (really) of musical experience and tales to tell. Between the five of us we’ve played to hundreds of thousands of people in every type of event imaginable, including concerts, festivals, weddings and much more.

Ray Tyson, a Dallas, Texas native, launched his professional music career at just 17. Influenced by Texas Blues legends like Freddie King and the Vaughan Brothers, as well as rock icons Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana, Ray's versatility spans rock, blues, R&B, funk, and roots music. Sharing stages with luminaries like Joe Walsh and Delbert McClinton, he's a seasoned performer and a dedicated educator, offering private guitar lessons and coaching bands, including students selected for the prestigious Grammy Camp.

Bill Carroll, hailing from Hollywood, carved his path into music with a Stratocaster copy bought from his lawn-mowing earnings. Signed with Aardvark Records before he was 20, Bill's influences range from Geddy Lee to Brian Wilson. He's toured with acts like The Byrds and written and produced music for TV and corporate giants like Bank of America. A regional Emmy nominee for his work in music composition, Bill's solo projects and collaborations have left a mark in the industry.

Michael Costa, raised in North Jersey, discovered his passion for drums at 12, meeting drumming legend Buddy Rich at 15. A fixture in the local music scene since his teens, he's shared his beats with various bands, notably End Over End and The Wax Gurus. After retiring from Corporate America, Michael is delving deeper into drumming, eager to expand his skills on the kit and various percussion instruments.

Kevin Cosgrove, a Jersey City native, began tinkling the ivories at 10 and soon found himself playing in cover bands across northern NJ. His talents led him to a full-time gig with a top wedding band in the NJ/NYC area and partnerships in recording studios. Relocating to Charlotte in the '90s, Kevin continued his musical journey, contributing to original composition projects and releasing CDs with Bad Alchemy.

Greg Endy, born in Reading, Pennsylvania, picked up his first guitar at 9 and never looked back. Immersed in the blues and R&B scene of local clubs, he pursued a degree in Video & Film while nurturing his passion for music. Joining bands in Florida and later in Charlotte, Greg's journey led him to establish his own home studio, where he crafts music and film productions with precision and passion.
