Retro Ramblers
I'm Andy -- I play guitar and harmonica and sing; Sara plays mandolin and helps with the singing. We normally use bass and drum 'tracks' that help keep a strong danceable beat while giving us the freedom to play leads and solos on our instruments.
We present a wide variety of music for listening or dancing. We can focus on a particular decade or a particular musical genre, or we can mix it up. We specialize in 50s, 60s, and 70s, but can include many older or newer songs, too, from light rock to classic country. If you tell us your general interests, I'd be happy to provide you with song lists.
In addition, we can do a set of originals if desired. We also have a special 'Retro Christmas' show featuring our favorite holiday songs from the '50s and '60s, and we recently added an hour of polka favorites for Oktoberfest.
Some themes we're often called upon to cover: Valentine's Day, Decade parties (Sock Hop, Flower Power), Anniversary, Birthday, Christmas in July, Reunions, Bob Dylan tribute, and Country-Western events.

Andy and his wife Sara are easy going and accommodating. We loved their personalities and their music, and our whole party did as well. If I have another backyard party I would have them again! Andy Burr's band did a great job at our 70th Birthday-- contacted us immediately to discuss the event, the venue, etc. They require only a plug in to perform! We loved that we could preview his songs on his website. He accommodated our special song. It was difficult because people were hadn't seen each other for over 20 years.... everyone was chatty, which is somewhat disrespectful; but no problem. Two outgoing youngsters that wanted to perform and Andy very graciously accommodated --to the delight of the adults.
