The Marlene Jazz Ensemble

Based in Roslindale MA

The Marlene Jazz Ensemble will add that special "wow" to your event with unique and stylish jazz, be it a wedding, corporate function, holiday, or any kind of private party. We're versatile with our band size and instrumentation--available from solo, duo, trio to larger ensembles. Marlene is a pianist and vocalist and her ensemble performs a vocal and instrumental repertoire covering jazz, bossanova, rhythm and blues and originals, from Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra to Jobim, Sting and Aretha Franklin. Our instrumentation is varied. Most often, our clients choose a trio of piano/vocals, bass and either sax, guitar or drums, but we work with other instruments as well. And of course, we pride ourselves on our professionalism, which is why we have collected quite an impressive list of esteemed clients over the years (see below). The Marlene Jazz Ensemble is also available for instrumental-only performances.

Ms. del Rosario draws you in with an uncanny grasp of the jazz, blues and soul idioms...Like Bill Evans and Miles Davis, the silences between the notes are always as emotionally telling as the words themselves."

-UK jazz critic, John Stevenson (E-Jazz news)

Marlene has performed for international and national audiences, in private functions for former Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick, Mayor Menino and MA senators. She has also performed for Philippine ex-presidents Cory Aquino and Fidel Ramos and Thailand's Princess Chulabhorn. She performs in solo and ensemble settings.

Her ensemble is currently the Boston Fairmont Copley house ensemble for the exclusive Bacchanale dinner and wine series.
